Senior Choir

MacArthur Park Lutheran choirs have had a long history.  The Sr. Choir, which is comprised of members who are confirmed and older, has been in existence almost since the start of the church.  The choir sings on average twice a month and rehearses every Wed. from 6:15 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Our singing schedule keeps us busy from September through May.  We sing a wide variety of literature from classical to contemporary.  Members need not read music to join because most parts are taught by rote.  We are blessed to have strong musicians in the choir who are always willing to lend a hand in the music learning process.  Robes are worn on special occasions and when the weather will allow (two layers of clothing can be uncomfortable in south Texas).  New members are always welcome.  Please call the director or church if you are interested in joining.

Handbell Choir

MacArthur Park has had a bell choir for more than 10 years.  We currently have 18 members and 6 octaves of Schulmerich hand-bells.  We rehearse every Wednesday from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm. This choir is for members who are confirmed and older.  Music reading is a must for this choir.  We dress in black on the Sunday’s that we perform.  Our current schedule has us performing at least once a month and at all special services. Our performing season is from September through May.  The rehearsals are rigorous and can be physically demanding.  This is not the choir for the faint of heart.  Openings for the group are only available when a member has to leave.  Please call the director or church office if you are interested in joining.
